What do you look for in a free host?

I'm well aware of how httpd.include works. ;) Lots of mysql still requires constant monitoring thougj and people will always sneak a nuke site on, sure of that. I will talk with our sysadmin about limiting mysql though. If we could limit each script to so many mysql connects for instance...

What do you look for in a free host?

Thanks for the feedback. :) We want to provide a service to people with basic needs. We won't be providing CGI or MySQL on this free host as those are things that require technical support and affect the amount of sites that go on a server. I think if you want those things, the host has put...

Yea, I just don't agree with that site though. Considering it is ran by a host. Seems "anti-competitive".

    Need a Host

$15/mo for 35gb is a bit unrealistic. Sure, a host will sell his mother to get a client these days but anyone that sells too cheap are just going to go out of business quick or overload their servers. Seems a shame that alot of "hosts" (clears throat) just patrol hosting forums to get a bid...

    New Host Advice Here

If you have no advertising budget then you need to focus on your local market. If you know about optimising your site for the search engines, that can help alot and we do get alot of traffic that way. The advice I give to our resellers (typically on a small budget), is to team up with a design...

    need cheap hosting

Damn, need some WHT rules in this place. Sure has changed in my absence. ;) Anyhow, if someone wants reliable hosting and a host that is going to be still alive at the end of year's contract, I advise you pay at least $30. Forty bucks is more reasonable.
