Have one more free hosting venture, includes site and 10,000 clients. All are on one server (which we will rent for $200 per month) including 2x quad core xeon 5335s, 12gb ram, and 4x 500gb hds. Server will be covered for the rest of Sept in case you want to move the clients.

The site runs Xenforo and this sale includes the license. Forum has 5,700 posts, and shows approximately 400 active users at any given time. Alexa rank is 46K, PageRank is 2, 5K+ Backlinks in Yahoo.

This project is still in an early phase, so revenue methods have not been introduced. The sites have no ads and there have been no attempts at upgrade sales.

Selling for $800 firm price. Will sell with server included for $1,500. Email sam [at] sambarrow.com

What's the quality of these clients?

They entirely legit stuff like forums and blogs? Or are many of them inactive or spam accounts.

Is it the URL in your signature?
Where is that server located?

I don't think so, free hosting bug is a "Hello, and thank you for visiting FreeHostingBug! We are a comparison engine for free web hosting providers with an active and helpful community."

So I guess he's holding onto it waiting for Private messages.

Just like I mentioned the last time this guy tried selling this company, this is one of the classic Raymond "build the host up by offering unlimited resources, and overload the server so badly that nothing works and then sell it" deals. He does this over, and over, and over again. Raymond makes a living doing this. What a shame.

No, email me for URL.
Server is at FDC Denver.

We are very strict on abuse, we terminate people every day. But we don't check activity so I couldn't say how many are active. However 5k forum posts says that people are definitely using the service.

Yes freehostingbug is a free hosting directory, completely unrelated. Of course you can always get it listed on there :)

Actually no, this is a dif company. And the server is running fine. This is something I got from Raymond but I am in charge now. I am not doing the "lifetime" accounts like some of the ones Raymond has done.

Please provide some screenshot(s) of your WHT installation that shows accounts by disk usage, and then do the same for bandwidth usage (both of these starting with most used). If possible, please also provide the domain names so we can see what type of site(s) are being included in this sale.

Here's the domain everyone - infiniteserve.com

There's way too much to post for disk usage, this is thousands of accounts. Total space used is around 800gb though. RAM usage right now is at 50%. Bandwidth is well within fdc's 10mbps as far as i know. I'll get a screenshot shortly.

Thanks, I'm not asking for a screenshot of every account - just a page worth of the most used in "bandwidth" and "space".

Seems a lot of people lately have had a lot of problems with the service with servers being down, slow servers, blocked IP, etc.

Looks to me you are unloading what was claimed as Unlimited, now you have more probs then you want to deal with and will unload it to someone else.

See my post above. That's what Raymond does. Whether he is still in charge or not, I have no idea. Last I looked, he was still an admin on the forum, etc. Maybe this guy got suckered and bought it from Raymond? Who knows? I'm sure it was "unlimited" everything at some point, whether or not it is now or not.

Samb, how did I know that Raymond was involved, before even looking at the forums and such? He is the only one in the industry who will cram 10,000 clients on a server, because he doesn't care. Before things go really bad, he just ups and sells the host and leaves someone else to deal with the mess. He is an idiot.

Perhaps you missed the part where there are 10,000 clients on a single server. You shouldn't have to ask beyond that. ;)

Okay I'll get that to you soon.

The server crashed, manager was out of town (was supposed to be back last week, nobody knows where he is) and he has all the passwords etc, I've spent the last 2 days getting passwords reset and everything back up and running. These servers are pretty heavily loaded no doubt but they are workable.

Worst case scenario - split them up. Plenty of legit clients and a ton of legit traffic.

Regardless of prior business practices - we have 10,000 clients and a 46k alexa rank with ~400 users online at any given time. Don't like the setup? Cool. Neither do I. Split the customers, clear out high resource users, terminate inactives. I wouldn't have put that many people on a server but it is what it is and there's def some value in this type of traffic etc.

Well actually Raymond has only run two of these things. He has been a very active volunteer at others, but they were run by another guy in the UK. That's where Raymond got the idea from. I don't care for overloaded servers myself, hell I don't really care for free hosting, but that has zero effect on the value of this traffic and these clients.

And let me just clarify this. Yes, Raymond ran this host (and the other one). And yes, the servers are jam packed. I said that from the beginning.

I am not Raymond, but I know Raymond, and these servers are hosted with me. Raymond gave me full control of both of these (supposedly for a couple of days) and has been gone ever since. I waited a week, he didn't come back, so I'm selling them to recoup my hosting costs. Last thing I need is another spare hosting business and server in my rack sucking up power and bandwidth. I don't have the time to mess with it.

10,000 free clients, a ton of traffic, do what you want with them.

Screenshots please. 10,000 clients means nothing if it's just a bunch of spam signups.

Disk usage here. I blanked out the names, if that's a problem shoot me an email and I'll unblank them and send you a couple more pages. I'll get the bandwidth one in a sec (showing a blank page for some reason).

It ain't spam - check me out (Sam Barrow), I am fully legit. Forums speak for themselves too, and I'd be happy to show you around iPanel or WHM in private.

Okay. You mentioned earlier that Raymond ran the host and you simply hosted the server? If so, is it even within your right to be selling these clients, especially without his permission?

Yeah. I haven't charged him anything, this whole thing was done for later payment when he sold the business (or wasn't able to sell in which case it was turned over to me). He was planning to do paid hosting etc. and run it for another couple of months.

This is not me taking a random customer's stuff and flipping it. Otherwise I wouldn't have access to the domains etc.

Am I mistaken to assume those accounts you have listed in this pic are using between 5-10 GB of space?
