50mb+ WebHosting

I already have a -------- url but I need a place that doesn't have ads and that allows atleast 50mb of hosting. I tried coolpages but they aren't accepting new people right now. As for Bandwidth I need more then what geocities offers because I use that up and they shut me down and want more money. I think thats about it for requirments. Thanks! :)

Well if you think about the math, it'll help you understand why what your asking is hard.

Most hosts use datacenters and pay upwards of 1 dollar per GB. Most just about 50 cents per GB. (All in USD). So your 5 GB is 2.50. Whereas they can host 5 people for the same price at 50 cents a person. Thats doable and easily paid for with advertising, where 2.50 cents is harder.

Lower your requirements and maybe someone can help you.

Hope this helps!

Lifelesshost- I can see your point.

I could do with less bandwith if I can find a place to post my pictures that allows direct linking. People like to take my pics and post them on message boards but don't use their own server space. For the photos I could deal with ads if they are topic related or aren't very noticable.

So then I will still need a hosting with 50 or more mb of space that also allows ftp.

Thanks for everyone's input so far.

You can fairly easily prevent people from stealing your bandwidth like this. Then, you'd probably find it a whole lot easier to get a free host.

I learned the hard way by having a "friend" help me out. He owned my domain which I paid for but never transfered the ownership to me. He also had the server so now i'm stuck looking for a new place.
Sorry for your experience...
However, i don't remember lycos to say anything about bandwitdh...i might be wrong...but...

You could use .htaccess if you find a host that supports it.
