Any alternative for Everyone.net ?

Servers leased from Alabanza now have a webmail program installed, so you could give away pop accounts and let people log into them over the web.

I have done a log in form that could go on any page so people could customise it.

What you wouldn't have is automated sign up.
There are some very good script sets that will let you have loads of users on one pop account with web based sign up.

Well, thanks for everyone who give the suggestions and replied my message.

Everyone.net fixed my problems finally. :)

They are very slow, but at least they fixed it.

But unluckily, or maybe luckily, I am going with Northsky.com(they changed their name lately, rite?) .

NorthSky changed their name to About Web Services. I think you need about 50,000 pageviews/month, but they are pretty lax about that...

I have two accounts with them, and generally they are really good. The only thing is that users will get unlimited email on a subdomain, not your domain...but this could be a good thing...

Also, its like having free DNS, since they handle that for you too :)

Overall, I have nothing but positive comments about them...good luck with whoever you end up using though!

On i-p.net. They allow domain names. I asked them a while back as one of my contracters wanted to give out free webbased email, but they decided not to go with them because they had concerns about what kind of banners they would put on it seeing it was a catholic school.

I wouldn't recommend I-P. In order to use their service, you also have to host with them (or at least relinquish http://www.yourdomain.com to their servers). And guess what, they put ads there too!

So stick with Everyone or bigmailbox...they are the best and there are really no cheap alternatives...

In order to do that, you will have to have the option of having unlimited (or a lot) of email accounts from your hosts....very few hosts will let you do this, and fewer still will have the thing automated...

But, to answer your question... assuming you give your members about 2mb of space, and you have about 200 members or so, that about 400mb to start...

If you have a dedicated server than this shouldn't be a problem...if you are running a site of a host, I would tend to stick with the free email providers...

For a complete list go to http://emailaddresses.com and check on "Start your own service"

Anyway, good luck with your venture :D
