Poor student requires a host which will give at least 1 MYSQL database, PHP, FTP and at least 10mb space with a reasonable bandwidth limit oh and a cgi directory!

Im wanting to first test out things, I want to develop my skills in PHP and MYSQL especially for my Uni work and finally put my website up once I have learnt more PHP and MYSQL

*looks pitifull*

I pity da foo :D

You're going to have quite a fun time when you find that most free hosts have the PHP running in the safe mode thusly disabling a lot of scripting. :classic2:

Best to install it on your box. :chinese2:

Hehe...yeah. I still don't get why everyone wants to rip their name though. First, you have f2g and now f2o. :D

I do sincerely love how people post here at FreeWebSpace
instead of submitting a support ticket over on our site like
they should. We only visit this site once or twice a month.

Anyway, if you read the rules on the forum signup, you'll
see that you cannot use some FREE email addresses as your
contact address (IE: Hotmail). If you are putting that on your
forum application, it'll immediately give you the message you
just quoted.

Use the email that your ISP gave you and you should be able
to signup without any problems.

If for some reason you actually have a ban on your IP ... we
do have a few of those .... it is probably because we previously
caught someone spamming or attacking other members from
your ISP. In those cases, send us an email message and we
can usually get the IP ban released for you.

Bad assumption there ... we DO NOT block almost every computer.

Nine times out of ten, if you are seeing that message it is because
you are ignoring the message on the forum signup screen and
attempting to signup using a HOTMAIL or YAHOO address.

HOTMAIL and YAHOO addresses are not allowed as contact
email addresses and cannot be used to signup.

I would say that 60% of the Internet users in the world don't get an e-mail address with their ISP. So you're essentially blocking off more than half of the world when you do such things.
