I wanted to know if this is a cheap dedicated server?

Intel Celerone D 2.6GHz Processor
512mb RAM (1GB Burstable)
80GB HDD
1TB bandwidth

$27 monthly
$59 once off setup fee

It seems very cheap if you ask me. The only thing I find very expensive is the setup fee. But that is only once off. Tell me what you think? Yes or No? If No do you have any better offers. I need about 40GB of bandwidth with unlimited bandwidth. or min 1TB bandwidth. I can't find any VPS/Dedicated server in the US with unlimited bandwidth. So i guess it will be a European server. Seems US bandwidth prices are too expensive!! :eek3: So much for the American Dream

It is cheap, but it's too cheap.

You can't get 'unlimited' bandwidth but you can get an unmetered port of 10/100mbs, there's a reason why they're not 'cheap', if you want a reliable dedicated server, pay for it at the proper prices.

PS: You wont find a good host at that price.
oh also, just to point out - Europe is actually more pricey than American servers - since there's not much of a demand for them yet. Look around WHT and the dedicated forums here.

If the sales rep is that confused when you are enquiring about a dedicated, they probly arent much good for anything else either. :p

Just wait a few days, that Server a day link will have a $29.99 special any day now.

Unlimited bandwidth means you get that, but in reality you can't. - it doesn't exist.
Unmetered means you can pull as much bandwidth as you want, through the port that you're paying for, you can pull this much bandwidth from each port:

10mbs - 3,300GB / month
100mbs - 33,000GB / month
1gbps - 33,0000GB / month

Those are averages, and of dedicated ports, so only you use them, if you get a shared line, there's no solid figuire of how fast your sites will load, or how much bandwidth you can pull.

Jason. You can find even cheaper. But how long will they live with such offerings and how long you will be comfortable with them as a customer?

Ahem, CoreNetworks have been around for years, thousands of people use them.
Well, that might be agreement for several years to have such prices or server can be on sale. That is needed specification in private chat with sales manager

CoreNetworks is just a sub-company of a large datacenter network. They aren't going anywhere. They've been in business for years and will be for years to come.

Your experience might be helpful for open poster Jason

Sometimes people want VPS server on the Quard Core server, then not expensive dedicated server. That can be cheap because hardware is quite old and that becomes cheaper and cheaper

I compleatly agree. Hosting has had alot of fraud lately offering specials that are just not possible,.

Corenetworks are good company, reliable hosts, let us not jump into a conclusion that if a host is offering low cost service they wont be good. We had servers with them it was fine
