Hmm, well i was checking out some sites and saw this forum. Registered and was looking around. To my suprise, there was this thread on child porn with pics and videos. What i cannot believe is the members there are asking for more! That is sick. Anyway, what should i do? Please dont ask me to go to my local police station coz i wont. I heard US is very strict about this issue. Is there a way to report to US police? I think the server is in US too.

If you PM me the address, I will send it to the proper authorities. It's disgusting what people will do.

Also do whois check on them and contact the service provider im sure they wont be pleased about it either. disgusting hang them

give me the location of where this site is based in, or just pm me the url and i'll take it up with HRW and the closest UNDP office in the area.

I have reported it to the correct authorities. I didn't want to contact their upstream provider, I want the FBI and the other authorities to see it first hand before their upstream provider removes it

Simply disgusting.

what sort of forum was it?

It's a little disturbing if this stuff starts popping up on regular, run of the mill forums.

Well the ASACP replied:

Unfortunately, we only report `websites`, not
newsgroups, chat boards, bbs, email or web
communities. You may report these types of online
child pornography through the National Center for
Missing and Exploited Children
(http://www.missingkids.com).

So I'll contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Then why register to begin with ?

Surely there was some warning as to what it was, prior to registration.

Sigh, okkkk, i was checking out some porn sites and found this forum. So i register to get some free porn and found that thread. Happy?

Best thing to do is to kick the habit now, today as of THIS minute. You'll never look back.

I'd like to show you something, which I've been monitoring for a while.

url removed

I've counted, and it was more than 400 last time I checked. When said member began offering his DVD's for sale/trade he had a large collection - maybe 50 or so (or 40ish), and I thought that he was trying to give them up or something. Instead his collection has grown. The exact opposite of what I originally thought. If anything it could be an indication that the thread should be closed, in the interests of stopping this kind of thing continuing (ie people's bad habits getting worse).

I'm sorry... give up porn? :wtf:

Looking at porn isn't a "bad habbit". It's perfectly normal behavior.

//edit

Of course I'm not referring to child porn here. That is disturbing.

Dude, i dunno what you did in the past, but i am NOT addicted to porn. Just saw this child porn thing and wanted to do something about it.

Well, registering for it wasn't the best idea.

Now, when/if they get caught, I'm sure they'll check the logs.

Actually only members can view the forum. So i had to register. If i didn't, i wouldn't have known that there was sick things going on. Btw, i did not download the videos and have already cleared my internet offline files.

You wont get in trouble if it was a regular porn forum - the fact that htey had child porn on there tho is disturbing.

EDIT: you wont get in trouble if u didn't participate in the thread, or dl anything, etc. I doubt the FBI or the proper authorities can even do much save shut the forum down and go after the people who actually distributed the cp.

And guys, don't bash him for looking at porn - there is nothing unnatural about that.

Dude I'm not bashing anyone. :shame: Just saying I've seen the habit get worse and worse over time. The link I provided showed one person's personal porn collection over the past 3 years increase from 50 to 500. (or 480ish - something like that). Just so the mods know, there was no porn at that link; nor was there illegal trading or anything.

And besides, addiction is just a degree of dependence; if you really wanted to disprove dependence on porn you'd have no choice but to remove it entirely from your life - if you can't, or won't do that it indicates addiction. Just remember, you said addiction, not me.

Oh and by the way it's very difficult to ever prosecute anyone for child porn. Although (according to Australian Law) any form of porn which portrays the participants as being less than 18 (even if they are actually older than 18) is illegal, without positive ID it can be impossible to prove age. Also, you cannot show the images/videos to a jury; because of the graphic nature. Because of this Jury members have to rely on the testimony of forensic teams - without "seeing" any evidence themselves.

And as you have to prove it beyond reasonable doubt, it's very, very rarely drawn to a successful prosecution. This is the whole truth of the situation, and I know none of us like to hear it; and I'm sure law enforcement agencies all over the world wish that the public not become aware - but I'm sorry it is like that.

The situation may be more resolved in countries where you are guilty until proven innocent (and in said countries more of the guilty are successfully prosecuted - and surprising not so much more of the innocent). Citizens don't like the idea though, of guilty until proven innocent. But with a 98ish% prosecution rate (of all criminal cases) it does work (and for those who think that rate is "too high" just remember very rarely is an innocent person actually put on trial). I'm not saying we should adopt it; just observing certainly in cases like this Justice is much easier to obtain.
