Free vs Post2Host

Free vs P2H?

You don't need a useless poll to know that people would rather have completely free hosting where they don't have to do anything, vs. free p2h hosting.

I don't get the point of your poll. Your problem is that you are using Kloxo...at least according to your last ad. Nobody wants Kloxo. A host that can't afford the $30/mo. (normally less) for cPanel shouldn't be in business, IMO.

I'm thinking overall, some people might like p2h. (less abuse?)

I see no point in cPanel, people could just go with one of the many cPanel resellers out there... I might change to DirectAdmin later on. (i already have a license)

I HATE Post2host! If you've seen my specialty, watching over new hosts, those dead hosts would all vanish taking your posts with them.

Why don't you "see the point" of cPanel? I have tried about four panels by now, and the others seem to have irritating file managers. Directadmin was sorting my files *by capital letter status* (?!) causing a few minutes of panic that my files were gone. No, they were all on page 2! Plus it seemed to have more clicks "okay" etc.

I like Linkback - I'm not really into the fragmented new-host communities.

It would not be unique to use cPanel, the number of hosts that use it must be in the thousands! Also i've always wanted to use lighttpd with a hosting control panel, i hate Apache....

It would not be unique to use cPanel? Using Kloxo is not unique either. I'm guessing you just don't want to spend the money on cPanel? Seeing as you're hosted on a VPS. that's what...$15/mo. at the most?

It's also very possible to use lighttpd with cPanel. Not sure why you think it isn't possible.

I'm paying £25 per month for the VPS, and £10 a month for another backup VPS. I can purchase cPanel as a addon for £10 a month from my VPS provider. Whatever webhosting service i am providing does not change the original purpose of this topic though...

To get back on topic then, free hosting (as I've already said). Most people hate posting.

I believe that linuxthefish do not even know how to configure it to use lighttpd.
:)

You are going off topic.

I have had a post2host before, I didn't notice that people hate to post.

Most people who are looking for free hosting, will have to have forced ads, or requirement to post in forums.
What they want is just very huge space and bandwidth and refuse to contribute back anything to the host.
I believe you've seen some of those users who moving around this forum and complaining about these, and even requested to have the VPS for very very low forum post.

I'd rather do post2host and do something for the hosting. I'd go with paid hosting for any serious business though.

I refuse to do both P2H and forced ads. I would willingly place ads that would be incorporated into the payout, but to have those top/bottom banners, nope.

So you would rather use a vastly inferior control panel because that would make you "not unique"? Is that why you offer the "unlimited" bandwidth & 500GB transfer plans? Overselling is unique?
