gcsnet.net?

I agree

They are fast ...

unfortunately it´s not so easy to get 200 visits daily within one week having absolut legal content on your site... but for those out there who fill their preconditions should give em a try.

so far

I get only 50 a day so I e-mailed them asking if they would delete my site.. they said: no, the requirement is to keep away people who want hosting but never actually upload anything. As far as I know they just want active accounts.

That's good to know. I will feel sorta bad signing up for a few accounts though, cause for some reason they assign IP's to users when you sign up. This is someting I don't need, and it costs them money every time they do it. Besides, I hope my site will get 200 visits daily. Isn't that good enough?

They have awesome support. And amazing speed. It took less than a minue to upload my whole site. Currently that is only 8 MB, but compare that with taking like 5 mins. I was loading images off my site at 200+ KB/s. Any other free hosts that fast? I haven't seen any.

I heard someone say that their IP points to Tera-byte, perhaps they got a dedicated server there? It explains the speed...

Good news...

from gcsnet.net
Size doesn't matter! gcsnet.net has lifted the 200 hits per
day requirement to qualify for our hosting service. As long
as you are ready to upload your content right away, we will
host you.

Question is how long will they last now?

I fear that they won´t last for long ...

however, I think it´s the greatest service ever released in this combo so far.... am I right?

Guys, give gcsnet.net a chance maybe this time u guys finally found what you've been looking for?

let me see how fast it loads

Well, be warned, my site is under construction. If you want to see the increadible speed, my site is here

Compare that with the one on datablocks by clicking here.

Hey, if this is breaking the forum rules, go ahead and delete my post.

*EDIT*

Hmm...datablocks.net is still down. That link won't work.

I opened the first and a few seconds later Databloocks and Datablocks opened first. In fact, gcsnet.net didn't open at all.

Latest news from their site:

Size doesn't matter! gcsnet.net has lifted the 200 hits per day requirement to qualify for our hosting service. As long as you are ready to upload your content right away, we will host you.

More features! Due to numerous requests we have made available PHP4 and mailing list access. Also, our system is fully compatible with free web-based mail services such as everyone.net -- you can now offer your visitors free e-mail addresses@yourdomain.com!

Advertising? We are currently ad-free since we are still in the developmental stages of our hosting service. However, users may notice occasional test ads load with their site.

Gcsnet is really great and they are hosted by Tera-Byte (the DNS servers are at terabyte).
The guys in the "Paid Hosting" forum recommend Tera-Byte because it's very fast and reliable...
The current adfree status is really great.
I really like the siteadmin section. It looks pretty :)
I just hope that it won't go out of business since the offer so much...
