I can't find any of this info

How much space?
How much transfer?
CGI?

Etc... what are the specs on Geocities right now?

i dunno. but when new members sign up you have to use their webdesigning tools to create a webpage. I couldent even find the file manager. I signed up for geocities over two years ago before Yahoo collaberated with Geocities.

15mb of Space
???unsure of Transfer
No CGI is allowed

You do get FTP & a File Manager

I wouldn't recommend geocities though...terrible ads, to many users, terrible support, and just overall bad.

Phan ;)

Does any of us actually USE Geocities?

Too many ads? Just a small ad square at the top right hand corner of your webpage.

15MB space, template CGI (Guestbook, Message Boards, Counters and Stats, and some stupid, frivolous java applets).

Support - nonexistant.

I don't know what Phan means by "too many users" being a bad thing - Geocities is stable, fast, and is perfect for newcomers. You DON'T HAVE to use their templates or builders, you have FTP as well as browser upload for your own HTML codings.

Geocities may be around for a while longer. Try it out if you want - no harm done, right?

yes they are stable,fast,
and you can use ftp,
but besides the small ad square at the top right hand corner of your webpage, they are now adding extra pop up windows
recently.

I second what MrsGiggles has said. :D

You know, I don't know how much bandwidth Geocities allows. I think it is unlimited.

Psyche!!

As far as the pop-ups go...

According to Geocities the ad-square will only work with 4+ browsers. If someone is using, say, Internet Explorer 3, a pop-up will come up. I have experienced this first hand as I had a couple of people complain and I had to investigate. Although to be quite frank, I think anyone using a 3 browser or below needs to get with the program. ;)

I've never seen a geocities popup either, and I don't use codes

What's the difference?

Whats the difference between geocities and anglefire, tripod...ect? They all seem to be close to the same. I've been using Homestead, But they are changing their policy on (free).Very limited now. Would like to find one with a simmular editor, I liked the drag and drop one they have.
