Is FWS for sale?

how the heck did this make its way to General Discussions? :p
I figured it would have died a quick death.

You know how some people buy out the company they work for, creating a co-op? I see the day coming where people will pool there assets and liquidables into a new business class- the online Co-Op. Think about it, 50 people investing 1,000 dollars a piece into something, as opposed to one person investing 50,000. Sure, the ROI would be less for the 50 people involved, but there would be 50 times less work than if you were to it by your self. Also, 50 people promoting the same site, 50 revenue streams, means 50 times more ad awareness than the one person who invested the 50,000 trying to go it alone. Wanna partner up now? :)

Ever heard 'to many cookes spoil the broth'?

50? Too many. 2-5, a good start. What's worse is, you cite an example of an ONLINE business. Probably the first mistake, starting a business in an already over saturated market. You'd probably get a higher ROI starting a business that deals with _tangible_ things, with liquid assets to be sold etc.

Another thing, 50 people advertising on the net for the same site/service would probably yield the same results as 2-3 people. You can only advertise your site at so many places, 50 might get it done quicker, but if the results are the same, it'd be cheaper for 2-3 people to do it instead. Given the nature of internet advertising, there will not be 50 revenue streams.

As far as raising capital goes, that what stocks are for. Even if the business isn't publically listed, you can still sell stocks, friends, family, etc... assuming they want to help. You probably won't have to divide the income as much as you would with 50 people who contributed capital AND worked in the company.

I know nothing about business though, if someone is doing this crap in uni or something, correct me if I'm wrong.

Nah all I was doing was using numbers, with 50 being just a number. The whole theory would be shot if only 2 bought it. Atleast with lets say 10 people, none of which have 50,000 a piece to buy any site, if they did, theyd go on there own anyway. All Im saying is, people would be able to have ownership in a bigger site. Theyd probably be managed by some group anyways if that was the case, who presumably would have some shares as well. I think it could happen. Matter of fact, my sister is a paralegal, I may have to talk to her to see if she has anyone there specializing in corporate law. Oh by the way, if I could be part of something like that, dont be mad when you see my little network blow up into a small power house of co opted websites. Id work out limited owners or something per site bought etc. Youre right, 50 is a lot. But if you got 25 with only 2,000 to spare, thats still not too bad right?

I still don't agree. I'd say no more than 5. I also think you're missing the point. Buying websites really doesn't get you back much, that is, unless you bought Yahoo, Google , eBay or Amazon.

Doesnt matter, Peo would only sell it to one person anyway. A person he would trust highly to continue, improve, and take care of it. Someone who would put it on a faster server and faster connection. We wont mention who I, err, I mean He is. :D

And no, it wouldnt go for $250,000. Even WHT didnt go for that, and it's much larger.

I wish. It's worth $xx,xxx. Infact, I'd have to say at least $50,000 - $75,000. It has 34,000+ members. It has a pagerank of 7/10. It has a large database of free and paid hosting providers, it has sponsors such as Netfirms, who are extremely large (and profitable) and finally.. it has great search engine placement.

WRONG - HORRIBLY. I wouldn't, nor would anyone else pay $50,000 for this pos. You're horribly wrong, please shhh.

Horribly Wrong? You honestly think it's worth under $9,999.99 cents? LOL That's too funny. This site can go from where from 20,000 to 50,000+.

And I won't "shhh". Don't like what we say, then don't read it.
