my computer was pretty screwed up yesterday...

Yes, Control Panel and my C:\ drive seemed to be sort of screwed up yesterday. My mp3 and images all became VBScript Files. All screwed up.

Control Panel the left side that indicates all those stuff were placed on top of the Panel and icons were below it, not on the right side. And it was fully text, no links as it used too.

But, the good thing is that, I restored my computer.

The bad thing is that, my files are gone.

My computer does weird stuff like that too. I've scanned it with every virus scanner known to man, but it just gets screwy after a while. I bought a new one today, but I won't get it until next Tuesday. (custom built)

I believe this is an IRC virus called LoveLetter or something like that. It's pretty popular.

...but my anti-virus software didn't detect it and its alittle too "mild" for a virus. And I wasn't on IRC that time and no one sent me such a file.

Twice I got a trojan on my system.

Antivirus software doesn't detect this virus.
And how is changing all MP3 to .vbs mild? I have 2 gigs of MP3s, I don't want to download them again.
Also, you don't have to be on IRC for the virus to execute. You just double click on the program and it executes.

I havent got a single virus on my computer for the past 14 months! Yeah! I have a virus-free computer!:)

not really. My friend's cousin got Pc-Cillin on a 133mhz processor with 32mb ram and startup scan hangs the computer unless in safe mode and/or disable it.

I dunno. It just happened to me that they just changed like that. And when I opened an mp3, it opens Microsoft Outlook and becomes a few kb VBScript file.
