My host just tanked, and they have no idea when they could be back online, or even if they will eventually be online.

can anyone reccomend a plan that is similar to what i was on, but with a known stable host? my plan had 500 mb, unlimited email, subdomains, and domains, php, cgi, etc....for 12.95 a mo.

i'm so  since i've only been with them for about 3 weeks....they said they'd come up with some way of repaying the missed time, but the prognosis is not good.

anywho,

Are they making plans to move/transfer their clients to another provider? Someone who might pick up the tab for the existing time perhaps? You might want to suggest that to them before moving on. Either way, good luck with your search.

Regards

Gary

they have plans to switch to a new server eventually..... but they said that everyone's sites are total losses.

That's no good. They should be trying to sort something out for everyone as a group. Some might not follow their recommendation/agreement, but at least those who don't want to go "shopping" again can get everything sorted out with minimal fuss.

myacen offers the same thing, except a 5 domain limit, but I don't know about their stability... I'm on this board to learn! But I just happened to check them out yesterday:

Does anyone here have anything nice to say about directoris? I've only used it for personal stuff and I like what they offer. I guess, if stability matters, they have to prove themselves first...

www.ProTGP.com - quite stable, despite rare occasional glitches in their system, but they're always on top of it. Tech support is quick during business hours, and has live tech support chat most of the time.

Any site offering anything "unlimited", you should watch out for. Well, with the exception of a few small features. =)

ProTGP is an adult host, but they welcome anything. The V-C package (which I use) offers 15 domains, 12G/month bandwidth, and 150M space. Or maybe they bumped it to 200, I dont remember. That one is $15/month. You can have a look at all the package deals at: http://www.protgp.com/virtual.html

I highly recommend them to anyone! And I have many times ;)

Check us out.

<<Please read the rules of this and the other forums>>

He asked if anyone could recommend a plan like what he had. I did didn't I?

If you don't want hosts to advertise when asked a question, Maybe you should post that in the rules... Or be more specific.
You are providing a service for anyone to awnser questions. If that person is asking about a hosting package, Then that pertains to a host since we are the ones who hosted what he originally had to begin with.

Make your rules more clear in the Future Please..

Hosts may NOT respond to general questions posted by members who are looking for advice/opinions/suggestions/recommendations on which host to choose.

You can't get clearer than that surely?

Makes sense but......

Makes sense I guess. The part that doesn't make sense is why hosts are even allowed to post then. It's common knowledge that 90% of the people browsing this topic are hosts looking for someone to grab.

Then again, Your rules say nothing about hosts sending a PM to someone who is looking for a host. I guess that is in the rules too?

There is nothing in the rules about PMs, but if a member happens to report it as PM spam, then it becomes an issue.

And by the way, you seemed to have overlooked a previously edited post.
<<He/she was asking for recommendations, not offers>>
Had you seen that you could have saved us both some time.

This is silly.

<<Now let us get this clear! You cannot recommend yourself, weapon wants tried and trusted (by members) hosts' recommended, not a self recommendation by a host that nobody has heard of and only been around a few weeks. Now drop it please, any further posts by you in this thread will be removed>>

I think this is a good policy. The original posts were edited before I had a chance to see what they looked like, but if they looked like NukedWeb's and mine, they may have been alright.

If a host posts a reference to a web page with pricing and compares the plan(s) to the original question, it is much more appropriate than "hey, I can offer you this..." A polite disclosure like "I am (or work for) this host" would be called for so it would be distinguished from the "I use and like this host."

Would mods agree?

Yeah...we got quite confused as well.

As some of the posting as you see, there are hosting provider responding to.

We are coming in here less often as we realised that our post has been deleted/removed a couple of time.

I think the rules of these forum must have been changing very frequently? I might be wrong! As I didn't have the time to check the rules again:p

Anyway, we just have got to follow the rules set by each individual forum.

Happy Selling!

ALL Cheap bastards! :p

Why not pay for advertising @ FWS.NET instead of spamming?
That way, you get more customers...
