myacen - HELP!!

New Member
I just signed up for myacen, because I have heard so many good things about it. But Im new to this stuff and having a bit of trouble. I have a website and forums that is going to be put up, so thats why I got it. Does it have a UserCP for it to allow me to access the webpage and put the template and files/etc. in. Does it even come with that. I saw that some webhost come with that. Does Myacen? Or do I have to use like one of those crappy site building sites. Also does Frontpage get involved with this. I need replys and help quickly. Thanks.

Sean

Wouldn't you just build your site offline then ftp upload it up.... As for a forum you would need to ftp upload the files for the forum to work.

Also, How do I make a seperate pass for someone else able to access the the server. Or do I need to make a new FTP account or whatever it is. Thanks

I know this off topic but my question:

Why did you sign up (and pay) without knowing all the details? Those questions should have been directed to Myacen's Support Team PRIOR of signing up. Just my opinion.

Yea I know, but I think I know all the questions to them now pretty much, and my friend says he knows how to use it. So Im al lset for now.

I believe myacen use cpanel, and if that is the case, it comes with a built in HTML editor in the file manager.

SilverX went on a spamfest today making a lot of inappropriate comments to a lot of threads. I have deleted a few, but since this one has been replied to already seems pointless now. I sent him an email when he first joined regarding this, but he seems to have conveniently forgotten :angry2:

Whose prices are too high? Myacen's? They are competitively priced - or cheap in my terms. I was paying around USD ~$15 per month with another webhost (who were very good - but just too much for me).

Oh and if you are still happy to contribute, please do share with us the names/urls of those "better companies" - in a new thread of course.

Might want to go back on topic.... I haven't a clue what MyAcen use for panel software... But if you don't know what ftp is I would advice you using some sort of browser software. They may provide it if they use cpanel if not try the url below..

http://web2ftp.com/

That will allow you to acccess your account from online without using ftp... Also I am sure robert has something like this on his server for you to use. If you contact them I am sure they will help you.

there prices are actully so low it isn't even funny. you can get a website for 32 bucks a year from them INCLUDING domain...

now if you go to some other host they probably are running obsolete versions of PHP, CGI, and mysql.

Rob is right you get what you pay for!
