Neverending fireworks.

So I'm sitting here in my room, when I hear what sounds like thunder. Lots and lots of thunder.

After careful though, and climbing onto my patio and looking out over the water I figure out it's a 4th of July fireworks display, happening somewhere in Washington state (Port Angeles maybe).

Thing is, it lasted at least an hour. A darn big display too, seeing as I could see it from another country. :p

What the hell is with that? Who wants to sit and watch fireworks for that long?

Americans.

"Celebrate the independence of your country by blowing up a small part of it."

Well it goes something like that...

...
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh! say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
...

Well most of the displays I've seen have lasted from 45 minutes to an hour... seems about average to me.

Your government likes burning money.
The fireworks here all come from donated money from local businesses... and it was only $30,000.

I still wish all fireworks weren't illegal here though.

Ah, I guess I'm just not used to it then.

Most displays here are 20 minutes tops. Half an hour if they have a big budget.

Actually, I may have had a beer or six before making that post.
Okay, not actually.

And yea, I'm less than a block from the ocean.

I celebrate birthdays by drinking.

piss on fireworks.

I think miller is sitting on some prime real estate. <1 block from the ocean in the area that he lives = cash money.

No, it was either Homer or the individual he was trying to buy the fireworks (along with porno and home enema kits) from.
It was a label on the firework itself.

When they were borrowing the Flanders' cabin -- the same episode where Lisa becomes popular.

Note to self: watch less Simpsons.
