password protected space?

Does anyone out there know of any free web space that offers use of some form of protecting web pages? Something like .htaccess with Apache would be perfect!

Almost any fwp will allow you to use .htaccess and .htpasswrd files.

I haven't seen any free web space site that offer telnet access - how do i create the htpasswd files without telnet access?

upload a txt file titled .htaccess with the commands written one line at a time.
