What programs does everyone use?

Do you use stuff like Dreamweaver and Frontpage or go with simpler methods like notepad, notpad++ ect?

also is this more a matter of preference on what to use can they all do the same things?_________________

I use Notepad++ for most of my coding. It's simple and yet effective in my opinion. Very light weight and can be ran from a USB.

Kate on Ubuntu.
TextMate on MacOSX, BUT, TextMate is turd - I can't find a good one for it.

wow... I'm probably the most old school of us all here, I use notepad.exe that comes inbuilt with windows. I learned PHP in it, and still use it to date!

Is notepad++ notepad.exe but with syntax highlighting or something :S ?

dreamweaver is good. if you are windows, get yourself eclipes. it has cvs built in for version management. it is sweet.

I use something called PHP Designer 2008, because it is very user friendly and it is really easy to read php code
