Anyone seen LSComputers around ?

I ordered a dedicated server from him 3 months back, have been paying him on time.
Suddenly few days back Remote Desktop stopped working, maybe they changed passwords, and plesk also stopped responding. They've put HTTP authentication on it.

I am sending him messages on MSN, also send him an email, but he ain't replying. Its been 3 days. My company is suffering a lot, all development and client work stopped.

He never gave me a support website link or anything, always says that its been reworked and reworked and reworked. I am really worried.

Has anyone got any contact of his here?

I am pretty sure he has answered a couple threads but not sure if it was in the past 3 dyas or not.

Hello,

We all have seen him here quite regularly. However, try to call him perhaps, or send him an urgent message on all the forums hoping that he may view the same as soon as possible.oldman2

Ok, he finally replied.
He is saying that maybe someone hacked your server, and helped me by getting remote password reset.
Its not possible for me to switch my server now to another company considering the amount of time it takes to transfer all client data etc., so I'll be sticking with him only atleast for a few months, after that will see as things go.

But this is very sad, all this has very deep effects. I am an IT industry analyst as well run my development and research company. I know that in the last few days, how many businesses were effected due to this problem. Because these servers are used to serve client businesses, most of which are themselves service and solution providers. So, we can well see how far does such problems effect.

And this all happens due to one man seasoned hosting companies. Ok, am not saying anything in particular to LSComputers, am now commenting on a general problem. I have a few suggestions so that we can control such things atease through/on FWS.
I guess I should start a seperate thread for that.

I sympathise but remember the old saying, you get what you pay for.

If it is that important to you, and being an 'IT Analyst' and running an R & D company, then you should be paying premium to ensure your clients secure operation for online services.

I guess 200$ per month for a standard P4 server (unmanaged, not much bandwidth or HDD etc) , everything pretty normal .. this cost for such a server ain't that less or is it?
I'll be thankful for all your suggestions?

It was just that he apologized for previous experiences and I decided to give him a chance again, but this time for a whole new set of problems.
Anyways, I absolutely agree to what you say - "You get what you pay for". My mistake was that I preferred to give amateurs a few more chances.

USD$200 per month? Xeon Server? Normal P4 3.0 , 1GB Ram , 80GB HDD & 1500GB Bandwidth is around $110

That's why we need NOT only a good host but with good support too. As for the price, to me is over cost but choice is yours so stick with it... May you have a long staying with them. Good Luck!
