Problems! Help, my site vanished!

I don't know what actually happened. When I tried to delete one html page and I wasn't able to remove it. I tried chmodin it to 777 but no luck (wasn't able to delete it). After that I chmoded it back to 644 (with wsftp le). Then I got stuck in that dir, closed connection and no more my site or FTP connection!

I'm hosted by VirtualAve and I can acces my site manager at VA which says: "The user directory validation is fault. Can't find the directory '/mysite' in user server, please contact technical support for this problem." I emailed them but it will probably take some time.

The whole site gets 403 Error:

• You are not authorized to access the section you are trying to enter.
• The permissions are not set correctly on that file/directory.
• Directory browsing may be turned off for that directory.
• You mistyped your password.

Please help if you have any clue on what happened.

Try log back in an chmod the directory to 755. If that don't work wait for virtualave to fix the problem.

The problem was that I couldn't log in with FTP. Tried VA members section but the site manager wasn't working (so chmodin via FTP or site manager was impossible).

Anyway, my site is back online. This was the first time I had to contact VA support and I tought that it will take days (I had heard bad things about their support) to fix my problem. I was very positively surprised as I opened my mail and saw that they had already taken care of my problem (altough they didn't tell me what happened).

This must be the most reliable free web host.
