SSI

I'm looking back on a file I saved from this board when it was using WWWBoard.....I'm not entirely sure, but is this it?

Code:
Save the this info as .htaccess:

AddType text/x-server-parsed-html .shtml

no, this has nothing to do with the web, almost

i make a file on my computer with SSI in it, yet when i go to IE Explorer it doesnt understand the command, so i need a file to add to my comp so i can view SSI files on my comp, not the web

What? Apache? It's like any other program, it has an install wizard thing.

Apache is a program that lets you run a webserver. There is a Windows95/98 version at the apache website which is DOS-based. It is pretty simple to setup for regular usage. PHP/CGI can be a pain if you don't know what you're doing. The address for your site if you run Apahce on your PC is usually http://localhost/ and running Apache is easy, just keep the little DOS window open. You can find out a lot more at the apache website.

thanks, i have Windows ME so i dont know if it will work, but i will try
