Guns 'n Roses are definitely classified as metal/hard rock group... you've probably never heard most of their heavier stuff..
 
Uh, huh...yeah...real heavy metal? Hm...Slayer..Testament, Pantera..Grave Digger, In Flames...and Children of Bodom ( they're new, but they have the 80s style )
