what do you think?

Yes, I think it looks pretty good. :biggrin2:

Well done hunney. :smile2: Although I find it can be hard to read with the graphics on the left displaying your different plans.

First time I see an italic cursive font used in a hosting company. Anyway, it's pretty good, except the price....:(

what can I say.... I am .... different :)

Oh, what makes it hard to read on the graphics? is it the color, the font?

As for the prices, I thought they were good prices, shows what I know.

:(

thanks for the input.
(what would you suggest for pricing on the plans outlined?)

looks good, as mentioned though the plans are a little hard to read, i would make them stand out more. These are your products afterall.

Darker font for a start.

:)

carebear, there is more than just bandwidth involved. (I am learning that people pay more attention to the bandwidth than they do the space and other options)

Addmittedly I need to redo my packages. At least I am getting some helpful feedback here

because that's about the primary cost. HD space is a one time investment and it's there. Email and number of mysql databases etc don't really translate in that much of an added cost as data traffic does.
I didn't think you were that expensive (not the first three plans anyway). It seemed you were asking about as much as it would cost.

Looks very nice.

Your site is nicely laid out. I think your pricing is a little high. I am looking for a host at this time since my last host went down Friday and will not respond to my emails of which are also bouncing after i send them. Guess he took that money and ran. I paid for 1 year thee months ago.

To help you find the right pricing format you could try a search here http://www.findmyhosting.com/ to compare what you want to what others are offering. Good luck. John

Thanks everyone, I revamped it a little to help the fonts show up a little clearer, I still like the cursive (yes I just HAVE to be different)

I am not expecting to get rich off of this, however it is nice to be able to offer something that I had a very hard time trying to find

I am avoiding the high tech cold look of many of the hosting sites I see

I want mine to tell the people that visit that they can expect warm and professional service as well as quality. I do not want a lot of bells and whistles on the site which is why I am opting for plain and simple tables and html (no flash and stuff like that)

I guess I like to be a shade different than the rest heh
(plus I want a site that ppl will remember and will come back.)

thanks for the info on the bandwidth stuff, I readjusted my plans and hope that it balances out.
I have visited that site you speak of and man they pratically give it away, I have no idea how they make money doing that.
(I can not even attempt to compete with them, I am a reseller and many of them offer less than what I pay now)

I will not leave my provider, mainly because uptime is awesome (my previous one was bad) and the customer support is par none (a customer support service that I will be modeling myself after, they have been there for me every step of the way!)

Most of them can't make money of it that way. They either make a loss now and hope to get enough customers so they can later on raise prices once people are settled in or they sell 10Gb/month and pray that a customer will only use 1Gb or else they'll get into trouble themselves.
If you stay around a web hosting forum long enough (try two weeks) you'll see a few people: "hi. I'm looking for a cheap host because my last one dissapeared on me" and two weeks later the next cheap one vanishes as well and they still look for the cheapest one the next time around.
Just make up your pricing plan to what you feel would cover the costs and give you a reasonable enough profit without looking elsewhere. Then look at some established hosts' pricing and see how they differ from yours if you really do want to compare.
If you're really sure about your uptime then you could offer an uptime guarantee (something my host did recently... for every .1% under the guarantee you get a certain percentage of your monthly payment back).
You might want to go look at www.webhostingtalk.com as well if you haven't already. Some very good advice pops up in the "running a webhosting business" forum from time to time :)

carebear I like the uptime guarantee, I will be considering that one option.

I heeded some of the advice I got from asking for reviews (yeah I know I STILL like the cursive font) hehe

I did redo my logo, I am interested in seeing what ppl think.

Would love some feedback.

Again, thank you for all the help

PS Carebear I noticed that they tend to say their last host disappeared a lot LOL

(well I suppose if you pay EXTREMELY low you get what you paid for)

With me, not only will they get quality, they will also get great service and support!
(and a possible uptime guarantee thing)

1st did you find a host yet?

what kind of site are you running?
What kind of storage do you require, how about bandwidth?

(I have a reason for asking LOL)

Um...ok, this thread is neither about trying to get customers or discuss the pricing options, it's a review on the site. There are other places for the rest of that stuff.

Personally, I like the look of the site, it looks very clean and professional..and yellow...the only thing I don't like is that it's not compatible at all resolutions.

You may want to take away the underline of the hyperlinks, might look a little better. Another thing, in Mozilla 1.2, the images used for the hosting plans is a little darker than the table background. I suggest making a small image background and adding background="planbg.jpg" to the TD tag (of course change the filename to whatever you saved the bg as). The PHP, Tux, MySQL, and FP icons are kind of small for the space alotted, you might want to replace them with larger images.

Overall, it looks nice. Good job :)
8.762/10

blank sorry for going off topic.
As for the resolutions, I am working on fixing that, however no matter what one does, there will be some screen resolutions that it just will not look right on I plan on putting a disclaimer as to which resolution is it best viewed at. I know I can not please everyone, that is not my goal.

Ben, the hosting plan images are supposed to be a little darker, otherwise it looks like just text, I want them to look like graphics (sorta)

My main concern was the logo, which I am now pleased with.
The PHP, Tux, MySQL, and FP icons are going to be changed as soon as I have the time to make new ones

I want to thank everyone for the help and advice it means a lot!

While i'm not looking at the pricing, i'm impressed by the simple and effictiveness of the layout. It wasn't hard to find anything on your website which is a big plus. I also like the idea of a free option to get people to trail your services before paying for an account. good stuff.

Arch that is what I attempted to do. When I did a search and started looking around I got so befuddled that I was totally lost. that inspired me to create a site that is great for those without a lot of patience, and without a lot of knowledge. (I try to make things easy to understand, and not so jump in your face)

At the same time I want it to be welcoming.
As for the prices, they can change, which is something I need to add to my TOS.

Thanks for the input, appreciate it!
