SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a standard technology behind establishing an encrypted connection between a web server (host) and a web browser (client). This connection between the two makes sure that all the data passed between them remain private and intrinsic. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites to protect their online transactions with their customers. If you have ever visited a website using the https:// in the address bar you were creating a secure connection via SSL. If you have an eshop or sell items via your website, SSL helps in establishing trust with your customers.

Very nice and informative. SSL is beneficial for all the website as search engine gives the priority in the SERPs for the website with a valid SSL certificate.

The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a commonly-used protocol for managing the security of a message transmission on the Internet. SSL has recently been succeeded by Transport Layer Security (TLS), which is based on SSL. SSL uses a program layer located between the Internet's Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and Transport Control Protocol (TCP) layers

More specifically, SSL is a security protocol. Protocols describe how algorithms should be used. In this case, the SSL protocol determines variables of the encryption for both the link and the data being transmitted.

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a server and a client—typically a web server (website) and a browser, or a mail server and a mail client

SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is a protocol used on the web for encrypting website data so data sent from the browser to the server and vice versa is protected and authenticating your website so visitors know your identity has been verified

  8. The SSL Certificate works out in the same way like we use our key to unlock and lock using the key; encryption makes the use of the keys to lock and to unlock the information. Each SSL session consist of the two keys such as the public and private key.

The validation process in SSL Certificate also includes the verification of the legal, physical, and operative existence of the entity. It also verifies the identity that matches the official records.

SSl certificates are the digital certificates used to secure your online movements. Choose the SSL certificates to your website based on different validation level suiting your site needs. Different SSL certificates are DV certificates, EV certificates and OV certificates.

The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol authenticates and encrypts application data transmissions between clients and servers over the internet.

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites in the protection of their online transactions with their customers.

To be able to create an SSL connection a web server requires an SSL Certificate. When you choose to activate SSL on your web server you will be prompted to complete a number of questions about the identity of your website and your company. Your web server then creates two cryptographic keys - a Private Key and a Public Key.

SSL is a technology that encrypts the data between the domain, server and visitors - making it more secure. If we discuss SSL in Forums we're talking about the certificate that allows us to have that encryption enabled. These days SSL (Let's Encrypt) is free and automatic for domains that are added to a shared cpanel hosting account - provided your domain points at the cpanel IP and you don't have .htaccess or cron jobs that obstruct the cpanel verification process. You can also get free shared SSL from Cloudflare.
