Hi. I try this. It look good:idea:. I have a small problem with one.
http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/Glibc2-HOWTO-4.html#ss4.1

Code:
Compiling and installing.

To compile and verify, run:

     make
     make check

If the 'make check' succeeds, install the library as root (while still in the compile/ directory):

     make install

When I use make I have a Error :cry2:
Code:
bash: gmake: command not found
:confused4

Code:
Operating system Sun Solaris 11
Webmin version 1.380
Virtualmin version 3.48.gpl (GPL)

checking host system type... i386-pc-solaris2.11

When i write : yum -y update
I have error :
Code:
bash: yum: command not found

Are you even root? type su when you login, then cd ~ and try again.
and, why did you type gmake, and not just make?

I'm always use a root.

Code:
[root@hakitbg ~/glibc-2.0.6/compile]# make
bash: gmake: command not found

I don't know it write " gmake " :confused4

In my path "compile" I have 3 application :
1) confdefs.h
2) config.cache
3) config.log

Maybe I don't have something :confused4

Do you keep typing # make? I'm sure it's just "make".
The "#" is just what the command line returns for bash stuff.

I might end up moving this to a host discussion spot or computer help because people are just helping and not taking the offer :)

Ok. I have that when i write now make:

Code:
gmake: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
In compile I have :

1) confdefs.h
2) config.cache
3) config.log

When I use apt-get -y update
Code:
bash: apt-get: command not found

and when I use apt -get -y update
apt(in here use space)-get -y update

Code:
apt: invalid flag: -get
Usage: apt <apt and javac options> <source files>
where apt options include:
-classpath <path> Specify where to find user class files and annotation processor factories
-cp <path> Specify where to find user class files and annotation processor factories
-d <path> Specify where to place processor and javac generated class files
-s <path> Specify where to place processor generated source files
-source <release> Provide source compatibility with specified release
  -version Version information
-help Print a synopsis of standard options; use javac -help for more options
-X Print a synopsis of nonstandard options
-J<flag> Pass <flag> directly to the runtime system
-A[key[=value]] Options to pass to annotation processors
-nocompile Do not compile source files to class files
-print Print out textual representation of specified types
-factorypath <path> Specify where to find annotation processor factories
-factory <class> Name of AnnotationProcessorFactory to use; bypasses default discovery process
See javac -help for information on javac options.

Maybe someone have a VPS where I can do that (on first post - must have glibc2) ??

Because I need command "./"

If someone have that vps maybe we change our vps. I don't need to many memory or something. It can bee the same options (512ram,30gb).

Please write on my email: chuchma@gmail.com
or write in post.

If someone register a account in this page http://new.pipni.com/vregistrace.phtml please write (email or post) I give you too this VPS. If someone come from Czeh Republic he have 99% to register (sometimes register is closed) another country maybe have a small problem. My country is banned and I can't register.

Peace

Okay it's all a bit confusing as to what's happening but it's the differences in Solaris (quite possibly paths) causing probs.

Look in /usr/ccs/bin and see if 'make' is there to start with.

gmake is just GNU Make so don't worry, look for gmake too in the above path.

But most likely :) - what is the app your trying to compile? Any chance it is not the Solaris version?

Thanks a lot for help.

I serach this: /usr/ccs/bin and I can find this :confused4 I don't have this path ?? In my panel admin I have something that. In ssh I don't know how I get in :confused4

I try find another "door" :)

What are you trying to do with the file actually? Perhaps post its full content or something. Someone might have a better idea on what you're trying to get rather than trying to debug one by one of the applications. Just a thought.

apt -y update
apt -y install glibc
I dont know, find out your package command, CentOS uses yum, debain uses atp-get
From what you wrote it sounds like your OS uses "apt" so try the above quote.
