I have already made my big teary thank you in the admin forum, but in case you didn't get to read it before th switch was pulled, thank you again for your six years of patience and goodwill that you have brought to the forum. There is no doubt in my mind you are the glue that holds this place together sometimes, and you are leaving behind huge shoes to fill.r

After knowing firsthand how crazy and stressful modding is, it is amazing that you have been here so long, never complaining about specific members or situations. You have my total respect and everyone on the mod team obviously looks up to you, and will miss you.
 
Jan, have you stepped down yet just your name is dark red or brown but you say your just a member. If you don't have powers yet you have a different coloured username that's unfair...............

and so it begins :p.
 
I do not think Peo has changed the permissions yet. But I am all for having a special color for retired mods,just like wht does. Jan has put in the years of service and I think it would be a nice way to recognize her efforts as well as the efforts of any senior mods that retire.
 
I would first of all also like to publicly thank you for your service Jan. It's sad to see you leave as a moderator.

As most of the members of this forum already know and have expressed in this thread, Jan has been the most important moderator working hard every day to make this forum as good as possible. She has been keeping abusers away and everything running smoothly even during the most chaotic times. This forum clearly wouldn't have been the same without her.

A special username color sounds like a good idea. (She still has red color admin status another day or two to give her access to the mods & admins section version of this thread).
 
Quite right Peo. So what happens now? You know as well as I do that you can't just replace Jan.

Those are going to be some hard shoes to fill. And eventually we're going to need someone to do the things she was so good at doing. Things are pretty calm right now, but this forum goes through waves, and at some point, there's going to be a new batch of douchebags trying to tear this place apart :p

I can only make fun of so many people...:p
 
No offence to any of the other mods, But most of them are fairly new and wouldnt be able to "replace" jan.. It will be rather differnt without her hard work

I have always first and foremost been "just a member", just that I was given extra tools to help keep the place clean. Some of you couldn't see past the fancy title and expected me to be professional at all times. I am not a professional type by nature, just a happy go lucky member like the rest of you. But because of the title I have had to bite my tongue a gazillion times and sometimes it wasn't easy ;)

I'd like to thank you all for you kind words (those who left kind words that is :p), it means a lot to me. I honestly don't know where we go from here but some of you have made me feel I should rethink wanting to step down.
 
You should rethink, you're clearly very good at your job with lots of experience in forums and forum conduct, you're always right ( it pains me to say ) ... don't do it ...
 
I dont think anyone really wants you to go, Mabye some of the people you have banned over the years :p.
You should re-think it.
 
Rethink it definitely, we don't want you gone. You're one great administrator; FWS wouldn't be the same without you.
 
Why don't you make her user color black, and for a member title put "retired staff". I really think she deserves recognition for all of her hard work put into the forums.
 
I asked you in the admin/mod section and also on MSN to rethink and I am asking again.
You're my favorite Staff member simply, as I said to you already, you don't bull---- and you hold no prisoners either.
You have played a massive role in making FWS what it is today and the place won't be the same if you choose to step down.
As was already expressed, your shoes will be impossible to fill, no matter who the person would be. No offense to Peo or Todd, but I doubt they would even come close to filling your shoes.

Take some time out Jan and rethink. :)
