Free domain hosting

I registered my domian name. I am hosting my site in a free server like Geocities. But I need a free domain hosting service WITH NO ADS, to point my domain. Can anyone suggest me ?

Also, my domain registrar allows 4 sub domains. I want to setup a subdomain, but they said that I should need an IP, so that the subdomain can point to it. What does it mean ? How can I obtain it for free ?

Any help is much appreciated. :)

Popogo.com offers -

150 megabytes of Web Space
No banners or pop-ups
24/7 Award Winning tech support
100 gigs of Bandwidth
No file size limit
Message Board
Counter
Formmail
SSI (server side includes)
100 additional megs upon request
CGI-BIN upon request and approval
and of course, more to come.

And you need the IP of the website that you wanna link to, I believe there are several programs that will tell you the ip to a website. NeoTrace Pro I think is one of them. Hope this helps!

thanks for the reply, but the address I want my subdomain to point to is like www.freehost.com/name When I asked my host, they asked for an ip address for the subdomain.
btw, popogo.com seems to be down now

Ok well, your registrar seems to offer some sort of limited DNS services but you should know that other services (other DNS services that is) allow for more flexibility and features. You seem to want forwarding and if your registrar doesn't offer that, you could sign up for DNS services at http://www.mydomain.com and redirect subdomains to web addresses.

Instructions are provided at mydomain.com as to how to set up a domain there: http://www.mydomain.com/move/
