Hangin Out Forums uses popups for opening member profiles for viewing, and a few other things, but does not allow popup or popunder adds anywhere on the site. HOF can be added to safe lists.
Hangin Out Forums is sponsor and donation supported, and has been for 4 years. HOF sponsor adds must comply to strict guidelines for acceptance. and are only displayed in designated areas. Sponsor adds are accessible by a small text link in the forums, leading to a Sponsors / Donators page, and on the site's main pages. Otherwise, the only adds you'll see in member forums and chats, or on member or forum webpages, are those placed by the members who own them.
If you decide you want to run your own adds in your forum, chat, or on your webpages, all adds must meet the following basic requirements: No links to porn of any kind, animal cruelty, hate, terrorist, illegal, or dangerous websites. Their main areas must be general audience friendly. Any adult content they may have must be in restricted areas, where minors cannot access it. Adult content would be R rated. Any site having content with an X rating or above is automatically disqualified. They cannot have popup, popunder, wiggly, jiggly, flashy, blinky, annoying adds. They must be virus, phishing, spyware, adware, etc. free.
