I can't believe I am downladoing a 700 meg file in a 56k modem! :D

But ive only got 100 meg to go now.

Thought I'd share that with ya'll. :D
 
The most I've (ab)used my chugging-along 56 K modem was 240 MB in 10 hours.

The point of the post wasn't so much to tell everyone that I am downloading a movie; but more as sort of a comment upon how shitty dial up connections are. :D

It's varying really.

Sometimes it's been crawling along at like 1-2k/sec; which is just annoying.

Usually when I leave it running at nighttime though it does around 4-5k, sometimes a bit over 5.
 
I remember when I was on 56k. I used to get around 6 kB/s. Now I get around 120 kB/s out of this modem.
 
I remember when I was on broadband when speed varied from 60k to 100k...

now i'm back on 56k, 5k per second, usually 4k.
 
Now what makes you think it was cable?

Anyway, maybe he moved or something and it was't available there.

Maybe his parents can't afford/aren't willing to pay for broadband anymore.
 
What movie anyways? I have tried to get a few, but most are less than 400 pixels wide. Too small to watch on a big monitor.

um no because my modem sux, can't upload files, keep hanging my PC, keep disconnecting me after a period of time, I'm getting a new broadband modem soon.

I umm... already did.

Not the manga however, the only Fserv that I found it on went offline...
