Due to editing time limits, I have decided to re-post this and add another email provider.

---

Hello. I'm trying to compile a continually updated list of free, web-based, email providers that offer a good deal amount of storage space and that are currently accepting sign-ups. (I noticed that this type of list was not in the sticky - only POP and Email For Your Site). The space for the sites listed below are the claims of that particular website at the time of inclusion. True, Gmail still requires invites unless you are a mobile phone user.

AIM Mail - It will put an advertisement tag to all of your outgoing e-mails. (Like hotmail and others.) I tried it when it first came out, and I didn't like it too much. The interface wasn't too great either, and it doesn't have many features.

bgxmail - You have to fill out those free offers once a month in order to keep the service. Of course, a lot of people will consider it because it's 10 GB of space. It would be perfect if it didn't have that condition though. They stopped providing SMTP some time ago too. (Now, you can have SMTP if you pay for it.)

Bluebottle - Their support team is good, and they seem to be trying to improve. They recently added a trusted delivery feature. (Oh, and they have POP3 and SMTP.)

Gawab - I first used them a while ago and was completely disappointed. They were very unreliable. However, I decided to try them again since they are giving out more features for free, and it seems okay till now. (We'll see if they keep it up...) The web interfaces don't look too good to me, so I'm only using them through POP3.

Gmail - The best e-mail service out there. I really like it.

Hotmail - There are many ads in the interface and it puts advertisements tags in all outgoing e-mails. It's quite a horrible service. If you have to use hotmail, then choose the paid option... Otherwise, change of e-mails. There are much better providers out there. *cough*Gmail*cough*

Netscape Mail - Ugly and adds a long ad tag in outgoing e-mails.

UnitedEmailSystems - I tried it a while ago. It has been out under different names, and it's unreliable.

Walla! - I tried to register a while ago and I could never use my account. Nothing worked.

Yahoo! Mail - Advertisement tag on outgoing e-mails, ads in the interface, but not bad if you use the Yahoo portal a lot.
