Hey! My name is Pat from www.CHEEPwebhost.net and I am looking to proctect my site and customers info with SSL. Id like to know the most affordable and reliable SSL other than VeriSign which I know is the best, but I dont have $1700 a year for their service. I was thinking GoDaddy.com SSL for 19.99/mo. What do you guys reccomend?

Thanks much!
-Pat

GoDaddy has some pretty cheap ones. I believe they're 256-bit as well. We use one of their SSL certificates, but I don't remember exactly which one.

registerfly.com or namecheap.com both offer them from $15.99/yr << now thats value.

now, quick question. would I settup the SSL through the WHM?

And should I protect the site only on certain pages, or should I protect the full site?

thanks guys!
-Pat

@ oates: Your host would need to setup the certificate unless you have root access (dedicated IP is also required) for SSL to work.

@ Vietkid: People will need to enter http(s) (without () ) if you want them to view a secure page, you can make this auto by creating a redirect or linking your pages to your secure pages. To make the page 100% secure your images will also need to be linked to https://url.com/image.jpg etc etc.

I wouldn't do it for the whole site, but for anything billing related, for login to contol panel or webmail, yes. Any information that you want protected should be directed to https://yoursite.com. You will also require a dedicated ip.

Ok guys, I got my dedicated IP address and I am all set to go!

Im going to buy from Godaddy only because my friend needs a domain anyways.
