US urges scientists to block out sun

Well I still say we need some Global warming down here. Winter or not, ground shouldn't freeze here every morning.

Has anyone noticed yet that China is the dirtiest country in the world...yet the US gets blamed for the most emissions? China has hardly any emissions controls.

China ratified the Kyoto Protocol and the US Haven't. Chinese emissions have dropped in the last decade, but US emissions have risen. Currently, the US emits almost twice as much greenhouse gas as China.

China is making an effort to improve the situation. The US has it's thumbs up it's arse.

Seriously though, I agree, China and Russia are big polluters alongside the US.

Russia has also ratified Kyoto like China has. If you put together Chinese and Russian emissions, the US would still beat them.
And once again, they are actually doing something about it, the US is doing nothing.
The government acts like it wants to do something, but the emissions just keep on rising.

Why don't you read, we may produce the most, but China is second and is going to take over as first.

In short, if you read close, you'll see although they signed the Kyoto Protocol, they DON'T have to meet the part where they reduce emissions to below 1990 levels. Why? This would hurt their crippled communist economy. Again, its all a plot to get the developed nations out of the world power status by forcing them to pay trillions of $$$ to reduce emissions, while "undeveloped" countries use the cheaper, high emissions technologies that pushes them ahead at a much more rapid rate. Why does the UN do this? Easy. The UN is one giant assembly of communist pigs not fit to eat off the floor of the grimiest dungeons in all of medieval Europe. They want the developed countries to share their wealth with the poor to get them a leg up. So lets start with burying them in debt.

I know they are second, but I doubt they will overtake.

Because they are developing countries, and not yet developed?

This would hurt their crippled communist economy.

Crippled communist economy? Haha, no need to get jealous, just because crappy capitalism can't deliver GPD growth like communism can...
USA developed, it's crippled capitalist economy, and has no right to deny China to do the same. It's not china's fault that it chose an economic system which actually works AND makes everyone rich, unlike USA who's economic system now has it $9 Trillion in debt, with many living in poverty.

Again, its all a plot to get the developed nations out of the world power status by forcing them to pay trillions of $$$ to reduce emissions, while "undeveloped" countries use the cheaper, high emissions technologies that pushes them ahead at a much more rapid rate.

That's retarded, it's no plot, it's a chance to save our planet from doom. Developed countries are the biggest polluters, that's no secret. Developing countries need to develop first.

Why does the UN do this? Easy. The UN is one giant assembly of communist pigs not fit to eat off the floor of the grimiest dungeons in all of medieval Europe. They want the developed countries to share their wealth with the poor to get them a leg up. So lets start with burying them in debt.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.....what are you a national socialist or something?

There's no need to be jealous of communism, just come to terms with the fact that other countries are better than yours.

Go spend a few days in front of Stalin. I can't believe you are so naive as to think Communism works. China's people aren't rich. More than half live in poverty. Have you seen what it takes to get a car over there?

Just because they aren't developed, doesn't mean they shouldn't follow regulations.

To impose regulations and be fair to everyone it will have to work like this.

First: ALL countries must comply to the same extent.

Second: ALL countries must foot their own bill, and if that means China needs a few trillion to get it done, well they got a lot of work to do.

third: They can't use the slave labor they like to use, the laborers must be paid a decent paycheck with insurance for the dangerous work it involves.

Let explain something, yes countries could cut off the U.S. and hurt the U.S. There's a problem with that. What happens when you cut off your biggest customer? They get another supplier, and you go broke. Now that you know that, name a single country that would ever cut off the U.S.?

As for global warming. Throughout it's history this world has frozen, heated up, frozen, heated up, etc. We are in one of those warming periods. Humans did not "bring" the warming. On the other hand though, maybe we are helping it to happen a fraction faster. No matter what, it's still coming.

Do we sit by and do nothing? If we have no choice, yes. Problem is, we dont have the money because we are in a trillion dollar war against people who will die out just like we will of the same cause.

If we CAN do something, then we should. At the very least put up a bunch of mirrors and redirect the heat to the Middle East so we quickly end the war, then we can concentrate on global warming. My thought on it though is that we have all this heat coming in from the sun..... let me rephrase, we have all this ENERGY coming in from the sun. Get the idea? Rather than blocking it, we should find ways to "absorb & use" it. Place tons of energy panels somewhere to start absorbing rays. Figure out ways to transform the heat in the air to usable energy. Hell I dont know. If there really is a hole in the ozone, putting a giant fan up there to suck out our heat is a better idea than putting up a bunch of mirrors..

Go spend a few days in front of Stalin.

Stalin is the man. If he can't do it - no-one can.

I can't believe you are so naive as to think Communism works. China's people aren't rich. More than half live in poverty. Have you seen what it takes to get a car over there?

I can't believe you are so naive as to think it doesn't. Sure, China isn't as far left as the Soviet Union was, but it's still pretty good, millions of people are still getting rich, they are still pwning at the Olympics, and it's still becoming a great country.

Just because they aren't developed, doesn't mean they shouldn't follow regulations.

Oh, so everyone should follow them except USA? China has a right to develop.

To impose regulations and be fair to everyone it will have to work like this.

First: ALL countries must comply to the same extent.

That's not always practical, it would be a lot better to say countries have to cut say 50% of their individual emissions by 2020, modified by their GDP growth, modified by their total GDP. That's a better way to go.

Second: ALL countries must foot their own bill, and if that means China needs a few trillion to get it done, well they got a lot of work to do.

It doesn't take a few trillion, as the propagandists would have everyone believe.

third: They can't use the slave labor they like to use, the laborers must be paid a decent paycheck with insurance for the dangerous work it involves.

They can do whatever they damn well like, it's their country after all.

As for global warming. Throughout it's history this world has frozen, heated up, frozen, heated up, etc. We are in one of those warming periods. Humans did not "bring" the warming. On the other hand though, maybe we are helping it to happen a fraction faster. No matter what, it's still coming.

That's more propaganda. Ice ages happen over millions of years, we are making it happen a million times faster.

Do we sit by and do nothing? If we have no choice, yes. Problem is, we dont have the money because we are in a trillion dollar war against people who will die out just like we will of the same cause.

That's why we get rid of the people in charge of USA, stop all the idiotic wars, and put money into initiatives to fight global warming.

USA is fighting nobody, the trillions of dollars are going to congressmen, businessmen, bush administration, family friends, etc - not on any war effort.

People, don't try and argue or debate with heymrdj, he's very ignorant about everything and he will never change his mind about anything - even if it's clear to all that he's wrong in every single way.

The one thing that I don't agree with Starcraftmazter is that China is doing something about it. Have you ever been to china? Do you have work experience in China? Do you remotely understand how things work in china? Because I can say yes to all of those questions. My aunts are rich beyond my dreams and trust me, the Chinese government is doing nothing to help the environment. There are no regulations, no laws, no nothing protecting the environment; part of what makes producing things so cheap in china. I could go build a plant and dump all kinds of chemicals into the water system and nobody would give a ---- as long as nobody important dies from it. Spend a few days walking around in China's bigger cities and try to see the sky...you won't bee able to see it. You'll see smog and a layer of gray smoke 24/7. So please, don't BS about things you have no knowledge in. One statistical report does not prove your point, if you don't know that then take some stats courses (even an AP stats course in high school will teach you this).

Good night,

Tang

What statistical report? I don't recollect presenting any reports of any nature.

And yes, China IS trying to do something about it, they have very recently signed a deal with our government, to fund and conduct research into how it's possible to burn coal in more efficient and cleaner ways, and other methods of making it cleaner.

What I hate about the US most in this regard is the amount of money they spend on "defense", compared to how much they spend on global warming. It's just ridiculous.

How much hidden money do you think communist pigs in China and North Korea spend. Why are North Korea's people starving? :tired2:

Also Starcraft, you yet again prove your ignorance. There is plenty of proof that our Ice Age was a flash freeze. Animals don't have food in their mouths when they are near frostbitten. Entire animals don't freeze into a block of ice, still alive.

TM and Starcraft are apparently ignorant here because sadly they have been infected with leftist media. And don't try to act like you haven't. You two are again proof of the dum suckers that come from watching today's media.

Nice post. An actual thought out plan, and some idea behind it. You need to be on capital hill.

Can you imagine if TM or Starcraft were there? Widespread poverty, a regenerated Stalin ruling, nuclear war over who would own the Bahamas and Cuba when Fidel Castro dies. Yep what a beautiful country they could make. Don't forget, since we'd still be heating and cooling, they would be dumping their imaginary billions down into MORE RESEARCH *cough* pronounced toilet *cough* to figure out why mirrors, thrusting the world away with rockets, blowing away some atmosphere, and making everything run on an imaginary substance that produces 0 after effects hasn't stopped earth's heating and cooling cycle.

Lol, if your only argument is that China is conducting research into these things then you really need to understand how the world works. By researching these things, in a political sense, they are doing something and this will make other countries get off their backs but in a practical sense it is next to nothing. And China's budget in terms of research for this kind of stuff is tiny. It's all politics. And just like the US, if china was to really "control" their emissions to the extent some people want then the country would run into the ground and all economic growth would stop.

And as to spending money on global warming, it is kind of too late to take the money out of defense. The troops are already deployed, the war is already started, so the US and its citizens really don't have a choice but to support the soldiers, because otherwise your leaving your army to die. How the US budgets its money is another issue.

China's main aim is to keep economic growth at the same level as it is today, I agree that if China suddenly decide to support the fight against Global Warming, it will hurt their economy greatly.

Joking aside, I have always felt that global warming was natural and it's the Earth's way of resetting itself. Humans may have caused it to move along faster but their is nothing we can do, civilizations don't last forever!

Not keeping up....

Sorry that I haven't added anything to my blog since it opened. I am not exactly a blogger type person, however I'm trying to get in to it so I can get a bigger audience of people interested in my blog. :)

I suppose this topic will be: Global Warming

No, this is not one of those every day Global Warming discussions... I want to hear what YOU think.

My opinion:

Over the thousands of years that we've existed on this planet we call Earth. Over the years new technologies has been discovered. So has pollution.
There have been a few ice ages, at least that's what evidence shows. After the Ice age was over, the Earth warmed up. So, many theories are that this is just another cooling down process which may cause violent storms, however that's life. I tend to be leaning towards the cooling down theory. How could it be some other cause, like us Humans causing it? It just started showing effects now.

The media is making such a big deal out of it now because of the recent storms. Some of it might be just to make money off of the damage that has happened around here through fundraising.... and some of it could be true.

Please let me know what you think! :)
