What do FTP error codes mean?

I recently got one via a ws-ftp prog upload session attempt, tho where i can login, i cant transfer files into that webspace, as i get this response [as logged]...

So is there a listing somewhere of what each error code means?

It already tells you the meaning of the code - Permission denied

You don't have permission to do whatever it was you were trying to do. Simple.

I can see that, but what could cause that as my username an password etc are all unchanged since when i originaly got through

Maybe somebody at the HOST server changed the "permissions." Have you contacted the host?

Did a script create that file? Sometimes that happens.. try and CHMOD it 777

No its a text file of my ftp progs log file.
as for that CHMOD 777 - where do i type that in?

Then I suggest getting a better FTP Program...
Like FlashFXP or CuteFTP
