You know, you people amaze me. While other webhosts come and go quicker than Bill Clinton unzips his pants, Geocities has stayed. You all moan and groan about how your host is unstable, or slow, yadda yadda yadda and then you slam on Geocities..Amazing. Geocities is more stable and more...

What I look for: Reliability and stability Fast Server FTP no ads or user-placeable ads decent bandwidth Good customer service (and depending on what web site I am designing, CGI is nice!) :classic2:

If you forget the "no ads" part I would recommend Geocities. :)

Um..just because one uses a drag and drop editor doesn't mean they are not a webmaster....Some of the best sites out there are done with drag and drop... ;)

Folks, grow up. ;) No one is bashing anyone. There is nothing wrong with healthy skepticism and asking questions. If you believe that is "hate" you need to get a change in perspective and reality. I for one am taking the wait and see approach and hope that it does work out. Good luck!

F2's is the web host "Freedom To Surf." ;) And I would say that paid hosting "usually" is better, depending on what you want to do. ;)

Once again Mrs. Giggles, you have a point. What do USERS want? Reliability and speed or bells and whistles? I submit the former---No one cares about CGI, PERL, or MYSQL if they can't access the site or if the site is super slow! Again, Geocities and Tripod beat everyone--hands down.
