Do Follow's are basically an invitation to receive SPAM.

Suggestion;
To minimize SPAM, use a mod that converts links to basically http://yoursite.com/goto.php?(URL ENCODED) [http://sitelink.com] that can assist with deterring SPAM. As well as NO Follows on those links.

Do follow and rel no follow are links in web. No follow are for not crawling/follow a link by search engine. Do follow allow search engine to crawl/follow links.

I think dofollow will take to you the website in your signature. Nofollow will probably not allow links or take you to the desired website.
