Disabling Dir Viewing with .htaccess

As some of you may know, HyperMart allows all directories to be viewed when there is no DirIndex file. I know how to allow the viewing of directories with the .htaccess file, but I wanto to disable that because I need to keep people out of work in progress directories, and image/file directories.

Note that a blank index.html file works wonders for this sort of thing
