It doesn't mather what age you are, you could own a domain at any age. The problem for most is the payment that's why people under 18 usually buys domains, not for the reason that it's illegal but for the reason that they don't have any credit card or access to something they could pay with.

You must be of legal age to enter into a contract with the domain registrar for the domain name. :) We're just providing payment for the domain name. The registration will be legally in the name of the winner and will be between the registrar and the winner after registration.
