The title states the main features I'm after here. What I'm hoping to do is start with a primary server that is slightly above the basic features and then expand to include several other server from various other locations, throughout the US, UK, and EU, for a cheap monthly or yearly price.
Desired Features:
- Reliable VPS host, at least 1 year old (good disk performance/not oversold)
- Varied location throughout US, UK, and EU
- Unmanaged / I don't need the support
- Game servers allowed (it's a tiny game, uses tiny amount of resources)
- Webmin control panel optional (don't need cPanel or anything)
- Ubuntu OS preferred, otherwise CentOS
- Option to upgrade for additional RAM if ever needed
- Affiliate program highly preferred
Main/Primary Server Features:
~ 10GB Disk Space
- Reasonable amount of bandwidth
- 2 IPv4 Addresses (for nameservers)
- 512MB memory preferred, 256MB acceptable
Side/Secondary Server Features:
~ 5GB Disk Space
- Reasonable amount of bandwidth
- 1 IPv4 Address
- 256MB memory
I'm not looking to make a decision quickly in the next few days. I'll probably be deciding over the next couple of months. But if I see something that sparks my eye, I'll definitely look further into it and consider it more heavily. As you can see, I'm not asking for excessive amounts of resources all over the place for a steal price. My main concern is the availability of different locations. At minimum I would need at least 1 location in US and 1 location EU or UK, so don't think if you have no UK locations that you're out. I will browse over any offers and try to choose the host that best fits my website. Any questions please ask.
