Can someone recommend me a good yet lightweight chatroom script?

A user of my free hosting service recently suggested that I should create a chatroom for users to communicate with us admins over important and urgent support issues, so I've been thinking whether I should just grab a free IRC channel or use a chatroom script on my VPS.

Well, I came to the conclusion that I should use the chatroom script because not many newbies on the internet know how to use IRC well and I don't really like staying on IRC anyway

So in short, can someone recommend me a good yet lightweight chatroom script?

There are many out there, just blooming hard to find a good lightweight one. You'd be best with IRC using a Java application so people don't have to use mIRC etc

I have used that one before and it works great... It costs $5 but is worth way more. It is flash/php based and doesn't eat up too many resources.

I second that, I've used it in the past. It's value should be much higher.

I think I'm gonna try getting one of those opensource ones so that I can modify the code to bridge it with myBB... not many chatroom scripts provide bridging with myBB... no idea why though.

Would of been better off with a IRC channel or a cheap IRCd server
use way less resorces than a chatroom script......
