wifi router

i have an adsl modem/router, working fine on pppoe.
i have a wifi router to connect to it. if I set it to pppoe, then BOTH modem and wifi ports (all 8 + wifi) will connect to some sites, fail on others, and VERY slow.

I think the wifi router is trying to dial the modem, which already knows how to dial.

What's the correct way to setup?:confused4

If it's Linksys WRTxxxx you have a excellent firmware named DD-WRT

thx. its mostly working, someimtes I get 'text' versions of eg yahoo saying i'm either on dialup or an old browser (I'm not)

When the DSL is connected to the router 24x7 and then to the computer, without having to connect with the computer, they shouldn't require PPOE, very weird.

I dont think we have PPOE cable here in NZ. lol dont buy a belkin they suck!!!!
