are you a geek or a nerd?

recently me and some friends have come up with an idea... the difference between a geek and a nerd =)

a geek - one that is with the computer a lot, expert with computers.

a nerd - doesn't have to be good with computers, but studies a lot, and "has no life" (or so they say).

are you a geek or a nerd? =)

turned out many of my friends (including myself) are actually geeks instead of nerds. =) we are all computer experts but we do hang out a lot often too and we don't study almost at all =) I do know some nerds too though.

And btw, I remember stu saying this in a message... "nerds rule the world" -- it is actually "geeks rule the world" =)

Yeah, I'm with Cheap Bastard, I don't study (i dont have school, ha) ... although if you count reading Perl books as studying, then I guess I'm a nerd, cuz I have no life :( but I also know a lot about computers.

Speaking of having no life, I never really got that statement, what is considered a "life" anyway? Why are nerds who stay at home and study and have a mass of useless info, considered "having no life". But then the kids who go out and drink and smoke and lose brain cells and don't really know anything, considered "having a life." Makes no sense to me, but I digress.

hmm... perhaps 'having a life' is enjoying life... having fun...
In which case... well i have fun on my website... Hmmm

HEY! Maybe i DO have a life after all... errr... nah

and jiminsd, thx for describing me:D

I'm not you're average geek, I'm the one at school that sleeps in class, the one who wears baggy jeans and skateboard t-shirts, the one who knows more than all of his teachers combined, I am the almighty punk-g33k! Ok, mabye not almighty, but I'm still a punk-g33k :p

GEEK here.. :) I read something once that "we geeks will be your next employers" or something like that...pertaining to everyone else...anyway...thanks for the definitions of those words, Agum.

I'm what you say... a "professional computer geek"

I get paid for being a computer geek... :)

I'm not in school anymore... been done with that for a couple years now... I never studied... But I knew more than all the teachers combined as well... I did my computer thing.. but I also did the music thing and theater, wrote for the news paper, and played 3 years of Varsity sports - Basketball, Volleyball and Softball (respectively).

How about a "neek"?

I am somewhere in between! -- Nerd when I have to and Geek when I can -- would like to be a better Geek -- but then I would have to become a Nerd to do that -- I guess it's just one vicious circle lol :)

Nick--> Punk geek eh? well meet the stoner/raver geek that doesn't even go to school, and is starting his own web-based internet company :)

I'm a jeek (jock geek ;))

When some of you say you know more then your teachers do you just mean computer class wise or in other subjects like maths, science etc?
