Today i ran into this site http://www.auctions4acause.com/

I looked aroound and find all these cheap items. And I wondered how it works. The Faq is not very helpful but this explains it:

As you can see you need the highest unique bid. And you can save a ton of money if you win, but it looks hard.

The people who thought of it were pretty smart. Just in this auction, basically they made at least about $400, of which $100 goes to charity and $100 goes to them profit, since the ipod is 200.

Cool huh? I bet they were good at math to think of it

Yes, the latop seems like a very good deal!

This isn't too different than the Limbo thing going on with cellphones (there are numbers in the name, but can't remember what they are!). It's basically the same thing - the highest unique bid wins. They've had cars go for less than US$100.

There's something wrong with this and I can't quite put my finger on it (too flaming tired for that), but the fact that the $14.06 laptop would raise $2276.26 in bidders fees alone rings some bells!

Charity begins at home folks 'buy' the look of it.

Not exactly a unique idea.. but it is if it's for charity (ie you can't really lose).

Are they a registered charity though?

So basically that's a lottery thing, not an auction.
If you guess the highest unique number you win :p

You don't have to be a charity to get tax benefits for donating to them.

I'm stalking your postz
