b/w limits

well me and a friend are using a server we have made from home and ned to know how to find out the b/w limit thnx

you don't really have any bandwidth limits at home they usually give you a capped connection. the problem you might run into is that your internet company may not allow you to host these types of things on your home connection. Check with your provider to make sure

Install http://www.bandwidthmonitorpro.com/ to look at bw traffic. And if its linux get vnstat.

Most ISPs block ports 80, 21, 22, 23, 25, 107, 109, 110, and loads of others. Port 8080 is oftentimes used when such restrictions are placed. However, some ISPs block this port as well.

Ports aren't of any relevance. There's 65537 ports for you to chose from.
