Best mode of payment?

My experience says it depends on you, your provider and options you have.
2CO (2CheckOut), Paypal, WireTransfer, CreditCard are most widely used.

The thing you need to check the host SSL and the way your payment details are maintained at hosts end. eg: in Hsphere control panel a 1024 bit CCEncryption key. see http://www.psoft.net/HSdocumentation/admin/credit_card_encryption.html

So evaluate your convenience and trust in your host. :tongue2:

We prefer Paypal as method of payment but for local Australians customers who are not familiar with it, we accept direct transfer to the our bank account.

We accept money orders. We try to make sure money order payments are for 1-year hosting contracts only, this simplifies things on our end and the clients end.
