Best Motherboard?

I know this will probably start an arguing thread about who is best, but I want to know :D Generally, which is the best?

Well, for what?

Slot 1?
Slot A?
Socket 7?
Socket 370?
Socket 423?
Socket 462?
Socket 478?

Dual or single processor?
mATX, ATX, or extended ATX?

Since we're on the topic.

What's the most reccomended motherboard that can support AMD Anthlon processors with around 3-5 PCI slots and 3 slots of RAM?

Abit AT7 MAX2 - Mmmmm... legacy free; pricey though...

For something a bit cheaper, check out the KX7-333 (or the "R" version if Raid is your thing), also from Abit.

I'm not sure there's actually a "most recommended" so to speak, it depends on a lot of factors: price, performance, features, overclockability (that is a word, right?), and so on.

Before deciding on a new motherboard, determine what the most important factors are to you, and then try to find some reviews of the board on some hardware sites such as http://HardOCP.com or http://AnandTech.com before purchasing it.

I prefer Asus though. Asus is what all of my current computers consists of. I rather like the Asu0s A7V333. Although I'd wait until purchasin a new motherboard, the nforce2 is likely to come out soon.

I like the Biostar motherboards, especially the m......7.......k? Well it's got a "7" and a "K" in the model number somewhere....You can overclock your processor easily with that one, I'll post the model number later if i find the box.

I think I found it at NewEgg:
[Nevermind, that one doesn't have AGP....]
