Computer Purchasing Help

This is the quote of the components that I had a quote of to purchase the components. There are a few things not included like cases and a hard drive which I will purchase from another company. Would the main board be compatable with the processor and other components?

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2400 $143
Mainboard: GA-7N400-L1 $125
256M DDR PC3200 X2 $148

If you want...

I'd suggest:

AMD 2500+
Abit NF7-S Rev. 2.0
2x256MB PC3200 from a major brand

The only problem is that my budget is $600 total max in Australian dollars. With the components below adding up to $416.

Whoa, where are you getting your stuff from?

I haven't checked prices lately so I don't know about the motherboard and processor, but I can get that same ram for under $100. :eek2:

Australian perhaps?

Jason120au, the parts I listed are about the same price as the parts you listed, perhaps even cheaper.

Daniel, the prices for the Processor and the mainboard are listed below

AMD 2500+ $155 (+$12)
Mainboard I could not find, but a ABIT, KT74A RAID is $196
512M DDR PC2700 333Mhz Kingston $150 (only $2 more expensive)

You don't want a 2400+, the 2500 is worth the 12 extra dollars.

Then get a Epox 8rda+

And you don't want 1 stick of memory, you want 2.
