DomainSite.com = Stupid Domain Registrar. Cheaters

Helllo,

I really wanted to bring this issue out in the open.

I own a 3-letter .in domain on domainsite.com !!

However, ever since I have bought the domain. I have been getting a particular problem.

Every once in a while a day, my domain starts redirecting to domainsite's parking page.

This is the page
http://www.maz.in/parking.php?domain_name=maz.in

If you try to access www.maz.in / http://www.maz.in / http://maz.in you will be redirected to http://www.maz.in/parking.php?domain_name=maz.in

I had raised a support issue with them, and I was told that there was a problem with te nameservers. I did a whois and found out that they had added NS 3 and 4 as ns3.domainsite.com and ns4.domainsite.com without my consent. These were not even seen or available in my domain control panel.

10 days ago from today, i.e 16th October, 2006. They removed theier nameservers.

However, again today, The domain is redirecting to a STUPID parking page.

All this when I just started my site yesterday. :|

Is there anyway to resolve this ??

Im not sure if this domain is actully registered... I done a whois on it.
So, when you change your nameservers, they automaticly get changed back?

Anyway it doesn't redirect me to a parking page - It shows "Maz.in free and paid Directory"

Huh ??

Watcha mean ?? The domain _is_ registered.

Do a whois for "maz.in" on www.whois.ws !!

And the problem is not the Namesevers. Its just the parking page.

It starts coming every once in a while !!

And its by the domainsite people only.

the parking.php page doesnt exist on my server.

I just dont get what their thing is

I know parking.php doesn't exist on your server.

But when I go to maz.in, I don't see a domainsite parking page. I see YOUR website on YOUR server.

That means its not a domainsite issue, its an issue from your computer. Some computers/ISPs take a while to update the nameservers.

Try clearing your browser's cache.

Clearly you don't know much about domains.

EDIT: Nevermind, sorry I misunderstood. That site is the parking page. Hmm then it must be an issue from domainsite.

Thats what !!

The nameservers were last updated 11 dats back.
Surely it doesnt take 11 days for the nameservers to propogate !!

And yea, I may not know much about domains if you think so. But that doesnt mean they should make a fool out of me !!

Read my EDIT.

Are you sure you deleted all the nameservers before putting your ones in?

It may not take 11 days for the domain to propogate, but you may have never cleared your browser cache.

And it's showing up for the directory for me, definately not a parking page (it has a custom logo for starters).

Let's see:

it has:

Google verify ownership meta tag
Code:
<META name="verify-v1" content="BsjdBRJ3yHxvFKiwEzgGmxhjh66IdOlWd5qAksFySzY=" />

Adsense publisher ID: 5179977055272115

Verdict: It dosnt look like a parking page.

If they did indeed insert their nameservers as ns3/ns4, your ns1/ns2 still have priority.
Perhaps what might be happening is that your ns1/ns2 server has some connectivity issues and when its down it loads the ns3/ns4

I can see your directory site.

I use to have this with my: bestboard.ws domain. But after a while it disapeared. Doesnt mean to say that domainsite is picking on you and trying to scam you. Except it redirected me to the .WS original site.

Anyways, have you checked for any redirects that you have made? I mean inside the domainsite control panel there is a redirect option to redirect to the domainsite parking page.

I mean, I have over 7 domains with Domainsite.com, theyre definitely not trying to scam you.

Well I agree.

It doesnt happen all the time.

But its really very frustrating when it does happen.

Blame my badluck for this if you may, but 7 times I have showed my site to my friends and other people I know online and the parking page has showed up.

Yes, the site IS accessible most of the time. True. But why does the parking page need to show up anyway ?

No redirects have been set in the control panel.
And yes, I DID clear my nameservers before adding new ones.

Another thing that I don't get is...

Try accessing any page that doesnt exist..

like http://www.maz.in/in3dex.php
OR
http://www.maz.in/crap----page.fws

I don't get the 404 !

Why ?

I've been having similar issues with DomainSite and I'm looking to transfer my domain to Godadddy. Whenever I try to change the IP's that my nameservers are pointing to, it always messes up. I have to get it done by emailing their staff all the time.
ATM, it seems like they've even held up my domain transfer, all it says is waiting for consent from current registrar.

Hmm, I have no such problem with my DomainSite. I recently just change it nameserver and have no encounter such problem yet.

sounds to me like their is an issue with your host. If the 3rd and 4th nameservers are set to ns3/ns4.domainsite.com, then it sounds like their is an issue with the nameservers on your host. Either their servers are having serious issues or they are having trouble getting the IPs to work successfully on those nameservers. When the first name server doesn't work, domain trys to connect to second, if that doesn't work it goes to the third and so on, so to me it sounds like an issue with your host. I have used Domainsite and they work fine for me ;)'

EDIT NOTE: I don't believe they ripped you off since I can connect to that domain just fine and get your home page, no parking ;)

domainsite works great :)

i have 3 domains there, and registeration for each took about 12 hours to get proccesed

but one thing, the control panal is a lil bit slow, and can be very frustrating if it was your first time.
but after awhile you know where to go to, and it would be "OK"
