Dreamweaver?

Dreamweaver is a great html editor, it saves you alot of time will still allowing you to mess around with the actual code.

I have DW3, DW4 as well as UltraDev.

It helps me a lot when I'm in a hurry and don't have to code by hand. Even though half the time I have to do some editing in notepad...

It saves some time....

ok

I have tried actipro's spider writer. it is good and it gives you a window for editing the code yourself,so you dont have to worry about notepad. I am wanting something that works better though, and before i invest a lot of my time downloading some program i would like to know more about what is available. are there any sites that do reviews on this sort of stuff?

I ALWAYS use notepad (heheh) but my friend had a copy of dreamweaver at work and brought it to me so i have a free copy, it is ok if you have a problem in your html and dont know how to fix it

i have t1 and i could send it to you ;)

brought or bought? a little typo? Because you know how I hate illegal things to be talked about ;)

Hmmm... And about the Dreaweaver question...
Let's consult the }:8) Supermoo book of knowledge :)
Dreamweaver (Deé re am - wee vur);
An over expensive program for editing raw HTML (Hyper-text-markup-language) files. It has many features over and above the competition and dosen't fault with the price tag. Well above anything else on the market ;)
Best off getting a demo and seeing if it is worth the purchasing price compared to your needs.
There are many other alternatives aswell, please seek;
HTML in book learning form, and web learning form (see WebMonkey).
FrontPage Express For if you simply must have WYSIWYG
Various other free editors See TuCows or C|Net
Along with Ken Nesbit's Web Edit ((C) 1994). ;)

Hope that helped :)

I use DW3 constantly. Although I am mostly editing it by pressing F10 and messing with the code. I learned on notepad, but why not use something that makes coding go faster. :)

Just use 1st Page if you're looking for something similar to WYSIWYG but still NotePad-ish. It's free, it doesn't screw your code up, has built in CGI/Java/etc scripts. Handles all kinds of different things from HTML to ASP. I reccomend it, but editpad is _still_ the best choice IMHO.

Yep. 1st page also has the templater like DW, just gotta look around in the program. Lots to be found.
