file download script

I am looking for a php script that will track downloads and post the number on the page like "This file has been downloaded XXXX times."

I am creating screensavers for a clients and would like a script to count and post the downloads. It really just has to say this file has been downloaded XXXX times and not even really anything. just count the dl's.

I have browsed hot scripts and havent really found anything. just wondering if you guys use one or know of one.
