Free host needed for portfolio

G'day all.

I am looking for a host to put an online portfolio on as I have graduated from my course and now have a Diploma in Information Technology (Web Site Production and Management). I am now looking for work to be employed by web design companies in Sydney (or elsewhere if on a telecommute basis) and need a good site to put the portfolio on.

The needs that I have are:

FTP, No ads, or ads that are popups (as I have some pages with frames and banners in every page of a frameset do not look good), CGI-bin, ASP, ability to put upto three Access databases on the server to use with the ASP, Windows platform, 40 MB or more space, ability to use in the site files such as .gif, .jpg, .swf, .doc, PowerPoint, Spreadsheets etc. Preferably, allowed file size will be up to 1 MB for a single file as some of my PowerPoint presentations or .docs are that big.

Thanks
From austhome

I know this isn't that helpful but have you considered just getting a reasonably low priced paid host?
It seems like you're going to use the site to try and apply for a job to show off your work. Do you really want someone to go to your site and then have to deal with popups or downtime?
Just wanted to offer my opinion.

Other then that I think you're requirements are a bit high as well. There aren't that many free Windows hosts to go around and with the need for FTP and a 2Mb file limit I can't think of any without horrible ads.

Unfortunately my power search on all free hosting directories returned:

"Unfortunately, no webhost matched your search criteria."

The need for FTP, ASP, CGI and an Access Database makes it impossible to find a free host. :biggrin2: Maybe you need to scavenge for hosting like this person. :biggrin2:

Because on earth, your request is alien to all free hosting. :biggrin2:

What you expect? Windows hosting is more costly than linux hosting and also requires a good deal more maintenance to keep everything working smoothly.

take care while you're showing your pages, the employer see the porn 404 pages, and they say"Oh...It's great, we need your idea":biggrin2:
