Hi,

I want to create a personal website and am looking for a free web hosting provider.

My criterias are:

~being able to create my domain of any chose (like myname.com/net/org)
~no ads of any sort
~huge bandwidth (optional but prefered)

As to everything else I down't really care, even if it has 1 megabyte of webspace.

Could anyone give me a link to such a web hosting please?

I nearly fell out of my chair laughing but we definitely got
you covered over at Clubhost FREE Hosting ...

I can set you up in about a week. Click here to email me for details. :)

I don't think I can post 25 "quality" post at your forum since I don't know much about webhosting and that's why I came here in the first place!
And what was so funny about my post? Am I asking too much (please tell me , I really don't know)?

"You must give me feedback about all aspects of the service including support."
Does this mean I'll have to tell you exactly what I'm going to put on my site?
"A smal image on the frontpage of your website saying"__hosting beta testing" must be shown."
I said that I don't want ads in my web site...
"You must become a member at our forums and be an active member."
I don't think I'll be able to meet that criteria either.

Isn't there any webhosting service that fits my needs where I don't have to be a member of some forum?

What was so funny was the "1 MB Hosting" comment that you posted
and trying to imagine what you could do with 1 MB hosting.

Where in the world did you get the idea of "25" posts from? Posting
on our forum community has absolutely NOTHING to do with hosting and,
there is no mention of forum posting being a requirement for hosting
anywhere on our web site or forum community!

I'd really like to know the source of where you got that because
whereever you got that from, it is quite wrong and should be deleted.

It is true that we are in the process of developing something new that
will be a new method for qualifying for hosting soon to be unveiled
method but, that new method will NOT include forum posting as part of it
nor is there any kind of posting requirements currently either.

Forum membership ... YES

Forum posting .... NO

(Our signup system uses the forum membership database to
store it's hosting application information)

However, while we are on the topic of our forum community, you may
want to post there even though it doesn't do you any good in terms
of web hosting. We have discussions about just about every topic
imaginable ... movies ... music ... sports ... news .... programming ...
web development .... dieting .... health & fitness ... hobbies .... etc.

so, basically, you are asking something for nothing.

Well, if you put it that way it does sound funny. But I already use a lot of something for nothing services, why not use one more.
I think that in some ditant way people who giveway services for free profit from it, even if there are no ads. (I'm using a ood and free email service for over a year now and haven't received a single spam letter, and I have seen any ads on their website, I'm sure if those guys didn't get any profit from it thay whouldn't do it!)
Besides, I found what I was looking for!

Hm, I can't find where I found the 25 post thing, I must have read it elsewhere but someway remembered it as your website :confused4
Now I see that this is what I was looking for.
Thanks

As to 1 mb comment, the reason I said it is because if there was such a site (and no other that fits my needs) I could use site masking (if that's what it's called).

2 amz,

I just found the place where I got 25 post rule form and it IS in your forum!
Once I fillout the Application for Web Hosting and click submit I am being redirected to /needposts.php

it says

Application for Web Hosting DENIED

Applicant:

We have checked your activity in the Clubhost.US forums and, you currently do not have enough posts to qualify for a web hosting account at this time. NOTE that this may be a false reading if the email address you just gave us does not EXACTLY match the email address in your forum profile.

You will need to participate in our forums and earn at least 25 posts by posting qualifying posts that meet our posting guidelines before you can apply for a FREE web hosting account.

We need to update the failed application message apparently. That policy
no longer exists anymore and we do NOT require you to make any posts
before applying for hosting anymore.

The application system no longer checks for post counts but
it does still check for forum membership.

If you got that message, it means you either were attempting to signup
for hosting using an email account from a FREE email service provider
instead of your ISP (OR) you failed to signup for a forum account prior
to signing up for a web hosting account. Those are really the only
two ways you can currently trigger that particular message.

Okay, the failed application message has been changed and now reads ....
Your application for hosting failed. Most likely it is either because you forgot
to signup for a forum account at http://www.clubhost.us prior to attempting to
signup for hosting (OR) used a contact address from a FREE mail service provider
on your hosting application instead of your ISP provided email address.

As soon as you correct either of the above, you can come back here and try
to submit your application for hosting again.
Thanks for pointing that out ....

According to the site, it says you must be an 'active member' of the forum to keep your site. What constitutes an active member? One post per month? One post per week? Per day?

The official policy in effect right now is 15 per month **AVERAGE**

Average meaning that if you make 45 posts one month then you
are in no danger of deletion for non-posting for the next 3 months.

The posting requirements to apply for hosting have recently been
completely eliminated but the posting requirements to maintain
the account are still in effect as of the time of this post although
that may be subject to change since we are in process of making
a number of changes.
